India's National Green Hydrogen Mission has catalyzed a wave of project announcements, but execution depends on a talent pool that is, by most estimates, a fraction of what's required.
The shortage is most acute in two areas: electrolyzer technology and engineering, and project finance professionals who understand the unique risk profiles of green hydrogen ventures.
Many of the engineers best positioned to fill these roles currently work in adjacent renewable energy or industrial gas sectors, often outside India.
Organizations that build relocation-friendly packages and clear technical career paths are seeing the strongest response from this overseas-experienced talent pool.
